About Ieva & Next Stop Vilnius

Hey!

My name is Ieva.

Welcome to my travel blog, where I share practical Vilnius travel guides, interesting places to visit, fun things to do and local observations from the city I now call home.

I’m not originally from Vilnius. I moved here after graduating from school almost 20 years ago, so I had to discover the city for myself first. In a way, that still shapes how I write about it: I know Vilnius as a local, but I also remember what it feels like to figure the city out from the beginning.

After visiting more than 25 countries, I started noticing Vilnius the way I do when I travel. Small streets, courtyards, public transport, food stops, viewpoints and everyday details suddenly felt more interesting when I looked at them with a traveller’s curiosity.

Over time, I realized that the city I call home is just as beautiful as many other places in Europe, and it has plenty to offer even if you only have a few days here.

I also have a dog, so I sometimes experience Vilnius from a more pet-friendly angle too. We take public transport into the Old Town, go for walks in parks, along rivers or on nature trails, and occasionally stop at cafés or bars where dogs are welcome. That means you may also find dog-friendly Vilnius ideas here, especially for relaxed walks, casual stops and places where travelling with a dog feels easier.

So if you’re planning a trip to Lithuania and want to spend a few days in and around Vilnius, this blog is for you.
